Resubmission- Why?

When we received our final AS grades for our Main Task, we were pleased but still felt that, as a group, we could have done more to achieve even higher. Therefore, after speaking with peers and teachers, we decided that we would make the appropriate changes and resubmit our project.

We began by showing our product to the class and taking audience feedback; some students stated that they felt that our biggest drawback was that our storyline was still unclear. Henceforth, we sat down as a group and watched our sequence over and over, verbally discussing changes that could be made each time. At first, we thought we would have to re-film it entirely due to unnecessary effects, and strange angles we had originally chosen! However, all was not lost... We spoke with our teachers, our technicians, and TAs, and finally, taking in to account all of their advice, came to the conclusion that we should keep all of our original footage, just alter our idea in order for the storyline to become clearer to the audience.

However, before we began changing our ideas I felt that it was appropriate to begin making changes to my blog. I did much more research (see previous blog posts- dates vary due to when the posts were originally posted and changes I have more recently made). I then made sure that all of my posts were relevant and the content was clearly explained and imbedded slideshows, photographs, and videos too to make it more visually appealing. I also re-did my evaluation, I left the content similar to how it was before but the biggest changes were in the presentation styles, the original Prezi was very long and there was too much text on each screen. Therefore, I split up the essay into questions that I answered and will show each answer through varied platforms to keep the audience interested right to the end.

We watched our opening sequence and whilst watching it back we discussed as a group  that it looked very much like a music video. So we decided to change the order of the film, to make it less like a music video and more like a thriller opening sequence. Another reason we thought about changing the order was because we didnt want to give too much of the narrative away, but we realised that the way the clips and scenes are ordered it does. The third reason we decided to change it was that we didn't think the flashbacks were clear enough. Therefore, taking all of these elements into consideration we thought about swapping between the flashbacks and the hosptal scenes to make it clear that she was having the flashbacks whilst still lying on the hospital bed. Therefore, the crash would go at the end to start the film off.
