Todorov's Narrative Theory

Todorov's Theory consists of five stages of a narrative:

1) Equlibrium
2) Disequlibrium
3) Recognition of Disequlibrium
4) Attempt to repair Disequlibrium
5) Return to Equlibrium.

Define: equilibrium

e·qui·lib·ri·um

It is important to understand theories like Todorov's in order to create a successful narrative structure. Even if in our product we choose to oppose Todorov's theory, we need to fully understand it in order to justify our decision to do so.
